Strong Armed Robbery in Samson

On 10/21/09 the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office received a (BOLO), Be On The Lookout, for a vehicle headed toward Holmes County on SR 81 from Samson, Alabama. Information received was that the suspect vehicle was just involved in a strong armed robbery in Samson, Alabama. While receiving the BOLO, Samson officers advised that they were in pursuit of the suspect vehicle in Holmes County. The suspect vehicle traveled east on SR 2 in Holmes County and turned down Myrtle Rd. where the vehicle stopped and two of the suspects fled into the woods on foot. The other three passengers in the vehicle were taken into custody.
K-9 teams from Holmes, Washington, and Okaloosa Correctional Institute responded to the scene along with the assistance of Walton County Sheriff’s Office helicopter and several of their deputies. A perimeter was set up and the K-9 teams were able to locate both fleeing suspects and take them into custody. All five suspects were transported to the Holmes County Jail where they await extradition back to Geneva County, Alabama to answer to charges of strong armed robbery.
Sheriff Brown would like to thank the K-9 team from the Department of Corrections, the Sheriff of Walton County and his deputies, and the officers from Alabama who assisted with the manhunt.
