Structure Fire 700 Block Of Third Avenue

DOTHAN: At 10:06 AM Dothan Fire responded to 784 Third Avenue to reports of a structure fire. When Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central ) arrived they reported heavy smoke visible.
Dothan Communications had advised all residents to evacuate the residence when the fire was called into 911. The residents did so and were in the front yard on the arrival of the Fire Department.
Fireman were quickly on the scene and started an aggressive interrior attack of the fire. The fire was quickly gotten under control.
Pilcher's Ambulance was on the scene standing by for the safety of the residents and fireman.
The Dothan Office of American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the family. It is a family of 6 which includes 3 children, one of which is visually impaired.
As in all fires Dothan Fire Marshall's are called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. Dothan Utilities was called to the scene to cut the power to the residence.
