Structure Fire in the Middle of No Where

HOUSTON COUNTY: Multiple Fire units from Wicksburg, Bay Springs, and Clayhatchee responded to a report of a structure fire in between U S 84 and County Road 92. The fire was reported by a helicopter that saw the fire from the air. The glow could be scene for miles, but took a while to find a way into the fire.


The hunting cabin was located about a mile in a half to two miles in the woods. Firefighters had to use brush truck to fight the fire due the only road to the fire was a field road and the larger fire trucks could not get back to the fire. Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded along with an ambulance from Wicksburg. The cabin was a total loss, the cause of the fire is not know at this time.
