Structure Fire on Burkett Road

DOTHAN: Multiple Dothan Fire units responded to a report of a structure fire at 585 Burkett Road. The first unit on scene advised light smoke visible. Battalion 1 has command.
Dothan Police responded along with an ambulance. The road the fire is located on is closed due to emergency equipment and supply line blocking the road.
The fire was contained to a single machine, a shredder/bailer and did not spread to the rest of the building. Firefighters are venting all the trapped smoke from the building at this time.

FIRE AT DOTHAN DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION PLANT; NO INJURIES
Dothan, AL—Anequipment fire occurred shortly before lunch today at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. The Dothan Fire Department was called and reported to the scene of the fire located in the work services center’s Assured Data Destruction shred room located at 565 Burkett Road. The fire was extinguished shortly upon arrival. The Dothan Fire Department is still on the scene accessing damages. No injuries were reported. Secure backup contingency plans have been put in place.
