Structure Fire Reported at 2102 Rosedale TerraceMatt Boster

Dothan - This morning around 9:15 multiple Dothan Fire Engines responded to a report of a structure fire at 2102 Rosedale Terrace. The first engine on the scene has advised heavy fire visible.
Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Johnny Givens had command of the scene. Dothan Firefighters were able to knock down the fire. Multiple fire engines rolled to the scene and water lines were laid from fire plugs to the scene for water supply. When the fireman arrived the flames were visible and the fireman went into an aggressive attack to get the fire unuder control. The homes received major damage.
Dothan Fire Marshall was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. All structure fires Fire Marshall's respond to determine the cause of the fire.
American Red Cross was called to assist the family. Dothan Police responded along with Pilcher's Ambulance.
Following the fire a lot of hard work. Dothan Fireman had water lines from near Charlton Drive to Rosedale for ample supply of water to the fire trucks to fight the fire. After the fire, the exhausted fireman have to roll the fire hoses back up, cleaning them and stacking them ready for another fire. They have to re-fill the trucks with water and then go to the fuel pumps and re-fuel the truck to get ready for other fires. The same goes for volunteer fireman as well as paid fireman of the work required after fighting the fires.
The American Red Cross is very busy today helping families. They were called to this scene to assist the residents with immediate needs because they can not stay in their house because of the damage. Any donations to the Red Cross should be done locally through their Dothan Office on Montezuma Street. Donating locally helps the money help local residents.
