Structure Fire Reported at Rock Creek Apartments

Dothan - Around 4:30 this morning multiple Dothan Fire Engines responded to a report of a structure fire at Rock Creek Apartments. First Engine on scene has advised smoke and Flames visible. Battalion 2 had command. Firefighters had to evacuate all the apartments next to the fire building. All the upstairs apartments suffered smoke damage and the lower ones water damage. Fire had made it through to two of the apartments but firefighters were quick to stop it from spreading any further.
The fire was in the office- laundry mat area. The occupants stood by out in the cold and watched as firefighters worked to save the apartment building. Dothan Police responded along with an ambulance. The Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams arrived on scene to see if his men needed anything and to size up the situation. Fire Marshal was called to the scene to determine where and how the fire started. The road is closed due to supply line blocking the road.
The Red Cross was called to help with the 8 families that were displaced by this fire.
