Student Leadership Conference University 7 Local High School Students Along With Judge Kevin and Mrs.

DOTHAN:    This past week 7 high school students attended the Student Leadership Conference University.

This is a Christian based week long conference where they hear from and engage with top business, education and political leaders.

Attending the conference were Kadin Whatley, Donny Herndon, Cade Wood, Katie Miller, Alex Byrd, Samantha Jeter and Makenzie Moulton. Also attending with these seven students on this trip was 20th Judicial Circuit Presiding Judge Kevin and Kay Moulton.

The students heard from Richard Land, President of the Southern Evangelical Seminary; Barry Black, former Rear Admiral and current Chaplin to the United States Senate; Timothy Goeglin, former Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison to President George W. Bush ( served from 2000 - 2008 ); Mark Miller, Vice President with Chick-Fil-A; South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.

During the trip the 7 young people also heard from some others. One of those was former President Candidate and a current United States Senator Ted Cruz. However Cruz had to cancel to show his respect for the Dallas Texas Police Officers recently killed in the line of duty.

In speaking with Judge Moulton, he said as an adult he and Mrs. Moulton have not had the opportunity to hear from so many top shelf leaders. And Judge and Mrs. Moulton had the opportunity to experience this with their daughter and six friends has been an incredible and awesome experience.

The 7 students and the Moulton's were able to see much of the history of this country. Some like the Lincoln Memorial, FDR Monument, Korean War Memorial and WW II Memorial.

This trip was described as an great opportunity for these students to learn. It was also incredible as Judge and Mrs. Moulton watched these 7 young people grow in knowledge. They are great leaders in the area of influence now as young people. As they grow older, what they learned and saw this past week will help them as they continue on a journey to become great leaders of the community.

This Christian based program is what America needs, these 7, the caliber of people they are, is exactly what America needs to lead our country to the future.
