MARIANNA, FL – Preparations are underway for Sunland Center’s 36th Annual Sunland Fall Festival, scheduled for Saturday October 25th. The festival is held at the Center’s scenic Environmental Park. Activities will begin with a parade at 9:00 am CST, with the day’s events wrapping up around 3:00 pm CST. Sunland is located on Highway 71 north of Marianna. In addition to the parade, the festival features a multitude of activities for all ages. Numerous vendors will be on hand with a variety of items for sale, and live entertainment will be provided during the day on multiple stages located throughout the park.
For any festival of this size, food vendors will certainly be a favorite of festival goers. A variety of food vendors will offering tempting treats with enough variety to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. According to Karen Free, event coordinator, a number of food vendors have already signed up and will be offering: Turkey Legs, Hot Dogs/Chili Dogs, Chili Fries, Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Corn Dogs, Barbeque, Pizza, Chicken Fingers, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Polish Sausage, Gator On A Stick, Fried Fish, Roasted Corn, Cakes/Deserts, Funnel Cakes, Boiled Peanuts, Cotton Candy, Snowball/Cones, Fried Oreos, Nachos and freshly ground cane syrup. The list is sure to grow as time draws near! There is literally something for everyone!
Be sure to stop by the cane mill to watch antique mule powered equipment in action to produce “old fashioned” cane juice. While you’re there, stop by to enjoy the warm aroma of fresh ground sugar cane being cooked down to cane syrup in old-fashioned kettles. Syrup will be available for tasting and purchase. A main attraction you won’t want to miss is taking a leisurely ride through the park on Sunland’s horse-drawn wagon. There’s no better way to relax on a cool Fall morning!
Sunland anticipates more than 5,000 people will be strolling through the park that day. Don’t miss out on this festival, one of the largest attractions in Jackson County!
