The Supreme Court has ruled that law enforcement must have a search warrant to place a tracking device on a person's vehicle.
The measure has been used to install tracing devices on suspects vehicles to track their movements. It takes about 15 seconds to pull up next to a vehicle in a parking lot and reach underneath the vehicle and clamp the tracking device to a car. The device is clamped with magnets or wire ties to the vehicle. It will allow law enforcement to track a vehicles movements via internet.
In fact, with the tracking devices, alerts can be set uo to come to a persons cell phone whe the vehicle moves.
Racking devices are sneaky. Several years ago I has a device under the headrest of my daughte's acr. It would last for about 7 days between charges. Evertime her car reached the speed of 65 MPH or more, I would recieve a text message of the speed and where she was at. I would then call her and tell her she had better slow that car down. She woudl look everywhere for me. I was at home and the device was under her headrest.
That was the dangers my children had for their dad being a private investigator.
There are many tricks. But I will not reveal them. Someone might want to hire me! 334-790-1729!
