SUSPECT WITH DRUGS AND GUNS ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOPMatt Boster

On Friday, May 12 at approximately 5:30 p.m., DeFuniak Springs Police were given a tip that a passenger inside a vehicle had a warrant. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on U.S. Highway 90 East near 2 Street. While approaching the vehicle, Officers smelled an odor of Marijuana coming from inside. The described wanted suspect was also observed sitting in the front passenger’s seat.
A records check revealed that Justin Bradley McDougald was wanted for a probation violation. A search of the vehicle revealed a .40 caliber and .45 caliber semi-automatic handguns, ammunition, and a small quantity of Marijuana. McDougald was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of Firearms by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
He is currently being held in the Walton County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
