SUSPICIOUS PERSON / POSSIBLE KIDNAP ATTEMPT

In the early morning hours of June 13, 2016, the Bonifay Police Department responded to Donut Land Express in reference to a suspicious person. An employee there relayed the events that had just transpired. According to the victim, an older model car entered the parking lot near the vehicle loading area.
The driver then turned on the high beam headlights and exited the vehicle and began walking towards the victim. The victim managed to go inside the business and lock the door and the suspect attempted to force his way inside.
The victim managed to call law enforcement and the responding officer arrived on-scene in less than one minute. However, the suspect had fled by that time in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 55 to 60 years-of-age and has a beard.
At this time, this incident is not believed to be related to two separate incidents in the Jackson County area.
