Beginner, Continuing and Health Recovery classes in the Taoist Tai Chi Society™ Internal Arts and Methods are currently held at the Enterprise YMCA Fitness Center and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Parish Hall. Beginner classes start every three months and four classes are available this winter. Two classes are located at the YMCA (you do not have to be a member of the YMCA to attend Tai Chi classes). Beginner classes will be held on Thursdays, 1 to 2:30 p.m. (January 8 - March 26) and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (January 10 - March 28).

Beginner and Health Recovery classes will be available at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Parish Hall. The Monday Beginner class will run from 8:30 - 10 a.m. (January 5 - March 30) with the Health Recovery Class to follow at 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. An evening Beginner class will be on Tuesday from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m. (January 6 - March 31). The Beginner classes cover all 108 moves of the Tai Chi set.

Anyone interested in joining a class is encouraged to join any time.

Ongoing Continuing classes are also offered at the YMCA and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Parish Hall. A schedule of these classes is available on request. Continuing class offers individuals the opportunity to improve their Tai Chi as well as further explore the health benefits of this art.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise that promotes health and relaxation. It is suitable for all ages and physical conditions. Anyone wishing to participate in the beginning class should arrive about fifteen minutes early to register. Comfortable, loose clothing, and flat-soled shoes are recommended attire.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society™ is celebrating its ninth year in Enterprise. Established by the Montgomery Branch, Tai Chi in Enterprise began with one instructor/one class and has grown into ten weekly classes with four instructors. All classes are taught by accredited volunteer instructors.

For more information, call 334-348-9008 or 334-347-4663 (please leave a message). For more information about Taoist Tai Chi, visit www.taoist.org.
