KINSEY. . .Tammy Lingo Shavers, a resident of Kinsey, died late Tuesday night, October 17, 2017,  in a Dothan hospital. She was 55.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017, in the Holman Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Delbert Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Barrington Road, Midland City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of Tammy’s mother, Peggy Lingo, 251 Watson Bridge Road, Kinsey.


            Flowers will be accepted.


            Mrs. Shavers was a native of Dothan and moved to Kinsey in 2002. She was a 1980 graduate of Northview High School. Mrs. Shavers was formerly employed by the Houston County Board of Education at Ashford High School as an office aide for twenty years and also operated the green house. She enjoyed working with the children at the school. Mrs. Shavers was a former member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Dothan. She was preceded in death by her father, James Earl Lingo, and a brother, Bruce Lingo.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Carl Shavers; two sons, Scotty Lingo (Shanda), Dothan and Shaun Lingo (Nikki), Kinsey; a step-daughter, Ashley Shavers, Dothan; her mother, Peggy Farmer Lingo, Kinsey; a sister, Penny Sheppard (David), Kinsey; five grandchildren, Tyler Lingo, Tylaya Lingo; Shauna Lingo, Isaiah Reese, and Auston Overstreet; a brother-in-law Blaine Shavers, Shelby Forest, TN; a sister-in-law Danielle Littlefield (Jamie), Ariton; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, James Sheppard; a special great-niece, Khaylee Sheppard; close family friends, James Shelley, Jason Kelley, Donya Holland, Shirley McArdle, Bill Danzey and Jarrod Andrews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Kelly, Jamie Littlefield, Jarrod Andrews, Haigan Compton, Keith Reeves, Ryan Ulrich, and Lonnie Brown.
