We are all local veterans comprised of multiple branches of the military. We range from Vietnam vets, Gulf war vets, and most recent wars in Afghanistan/Iraq. We also have an 81 year old Korean War vet that physically can’t help but provides wise counsel. We are all veterans that have struggled with various veteran issues. We realize that our area is heavily populated with, not just veterans, but more uniquely, WWII and Korean War veterans. The VA can only do so much. We try to fill a gap that seems to be needed greatly in our community. What we do is provide a FREE maintenance type service for needy Veterans. Our FREE services are not just limited to the following: home repairs, appliance repairs, build home wheelchair ramps, minor automotive repairs, hook up home electronics, minor plumbing, minor electrical, install ceiling fans, assemble furniture, a ride to local VA or doctor appointment, and in some cases just another veteran to talk too.
We are not counselors but we are veterans and combat veterans that can interact in a way no counselor can. No job is too small. For us the value is not in the free service but in the fellowship of fellow veterans. Sometimes that is the most valuable part of what we do. If a project is large and the veteran can afford the materials we will provide all the labor for free. It's case by case. At the very least if it's not something we can do then we can assist in finding the right person to ensure the veteran is getting a fair service. We are available 24/7. We will always consult with the veteran no matter how small or insignificant the help may seem. We are average men and are not wealthy but we will find a way. We have several volunteers in all sorts of skilled trades. For additional information, call Landon at 850-293-3713 or Buck at 334-596-0544.
