n a typical year, April 15 would be the red-letter day for taxes. This year, however, April 15 has been pushed aside by April 18.
April 18 is this year's deadline to file taxes or apply for an extension.
Usually, when April 15 falls on a weekend the tax deadline is moved to the following Monday. April 15 falls on a Friday this year but another event, Emancipation Day, is pushing back the deadline three more days.
