I would like to introduce you to these boys. They are all 7-8 years old. They have sacrificed half their summer for a sport they love. They have practiced hard, played hard and fought for every win. They have ran bases, done pushups and practiced drills well above their age level. They are gritty and determined. Above all they have been coachable-and it has made all the difference in the post season as most have them have changed positions and learned methods new to them. Their parents and grandparents have let them be coached and guided and have been there through it all, cheering from the stands and carpooling them from game to game. These boys have done what everyone thought was impossible and now are headed to state as District 6 CHAMPIONS! This is an experience that has never happened for a boys team from Taylor-Rehobeth! If you see them congratulate them! This is an experience these kids will never forget and that few have an opportunity to participate in. We appreciate all of the support we have had and continue to receive from the community!
Additional info:
The Taylor-Rehobeth Coach Pitch AA Boys defeated Dothan American Blue 14-13 on Thursday night to clinch the District 6 Championship. Taylor-Rehobeth went 4-0 in district play and has earned a 17-2 record since All Star season began in early June. The team earned a trip to the state tournament to be held Prattville, Ala July 10-15. This marks the first time in the history of the Taylor-Rehobeth program that a boys team has won a district title and earned the opportunity to represent their community in the state level.
