Teen Charged with Armed Burglary and Grand Theft

On 12/05/2009, at approximately 3:00 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary located at 3591 Flat Road Greenwood, Florida.
Upon arrival of the deputy, contact was made with the homeowner, Horace Horne. Mr. Horne reported during the burglary five firearms and a gray brief case was taken.
The deputy responding to the burglary had recovered a firearm earlier in the shift and showed Mr. Horne the firearm. Mr. Horne identified the firearm as his.
A subsequent investigation revealed two juveniles were responsible for the burglary and theft of the firearms. The other firearms were recovered and returned to the owner.
One juvenile was arrested and transported to Bay Detention Center charged with armed burglary and grand theft. A criminal affidavit was forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office charging the other juvenile with the same offenses.
