Terry Joe Taylor was born August 1, 1943 in Dothan, AL, the son of Jack Clifford Taylor and Lucy Estelle Bowden Taylor. Terry was a graduate of Dothan High School and a member of First Christian Church in Dothan.

Terry made his home in Bainbridge more than 30 years ago. He and his wife of 38 years together enjoyed being at the lake, or anywhere else they could spend time with their grandchildren, and the country club. His competitive spirit shined brightly on the golf course, at the horse track, especially while his horses were running and during good Alabama football game. When not involved in sports, Terry could be found sidled up to a slot machine taking a chance on the next pull. He was a great story teller and could keep you entertained with his tales. His bucket list included one more trip to the Hard Rock Café in Fort Lauderdale and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Connie D. Taylor; his children, Mike Closson and his wife, Deanna, of Wilmington, NC, Chris Closson and his wife, Holli, of Dothan, AL, and Tiffany Taylor of Hollywood, CA; his sister, Dana Bennett and her husband, Wayne, of Dothan, AL; his sister-in-law, Karyl Taylor also of Dothan, AL; and his grandchildren, Josh, Ben, Abbey, and Chandler Closson. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Taylor, Bobby Taylor and Pat Smith.
