HEADLAND:     On Saturday about noon Terry Walden passed away for the second time in his life. This death was his passsing from this life into the gates of heaven.

Terry's first death was when he accepted Christ as Savior. For to be a Christian, you must die to self, and be born again into the newness of the Walk in Christ.

There is no doubt that Terry Walden was a Christian and where he entered into yesterday about noon.

On Wednesday as I was leaving town I stopped to see him. He had a positive outlook and did not appear scared or afraid of leaving this life. Because, through Christ, Terry Walden was confident where eternity would be spent.

On Wednesday he had just gone to the bathroom and his breathing gave out. He laid down on the bed and we talked briefly. He said he did not want oxygen tubes and pain. That he understood with the leukemia he would sleep more and that he wanted to go to sleep.

I was returning on Saturday. As I crossed the railroad tracks on Highway 431 coming into Headland my brother called and said Sandra called him that it would not be long. I made it to the Ross Clark Circle and Sandra text me that he was gone.

From Wednesday to Saturday, Terry went from their bed to a hospital bed. So GOD was gracious to him at the end of the battle with leukemia and did not prolong the pain and suffering.

Terry married my sister Sandra Walden. His diagnosis was just before the major criminal trial in Lee County for former Alabama SPeaker of the House Mike Hubbard. Sandra covered the bingo trials for me and was to cover the Lee County trial. But Terry's diagnosis was just before the trial.

Terry enjoyed wood working. He cut letters and graphics from wood in his retirement years.

He also definded the word "tight". He could squeeze more from a dollar than anyone you have ever seen.

THANKFUL of the pleasure to know Terry and call him my brother in law...
