We are all familiar with Cancer Prevention Awareness Month, Heart Attack Prevention Awareness Month and many others. I think there should be a Grieving Parents Awareness Month each year !!! Unfortunately there are many parents in our community who are quietly grieving every single day over the loss of their precious child. Most of us would probably never notice their sadness because many of those parents leave to go to work or to the grocery store or to church with a big smile on their face. Silently these parents mourn. They don't get to talk about their child as much as they would like because most of us don't ask about their child when we see them. Not because we don't care but from mistakenly thinking that if we ask about their child it might upset them. I have found since I started this fundraiser for The Angel Of Hope Statue that in many cases it is the total opposite. They would love for you to ask about their child. They need to know that you still remember their child.
The Angel Of Hope Statue will help by letting these parents know that we haven't forgotten their child. In addition to representing Hope to all parents who have endured the death of a child, it will be a gravesite for parents that don't have one. It will be a symbol of Hope, a place to reflect, a place of healing and a special place for people to grieve. There will be a great spiritual wonder in this memorial statue. This Angel will be a symbol that will represent and honor our children.
Our children will live in our hearts and lives forever. Remember that our children live through us, and their lives can touch many others through us. Parents need to feel that they will survive and move on, and that their children will never be forgotten. Every December the 6th there will be a candlelight vigil for all who wish to come honor these children by laying a white rose at the base of the statue.
