The Grand on Foster Dedicates Fountain to Covenant Hospice

Dothan, AL – The Grand on Foster Street will dedicate their outdoor fountain to Covenant Hospice to honor the patients and families that Covenant serves in Houston and the surrounding counties. The dedication will take place at 10:30a.m. Tuesday, September 25^th, 2012, at the Grand on Foster (170 North Foster St) and refreshments will be served. The Grand made the decision to dedicate the fountain after Covenant Hospice had hosted their 2012 Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on May 1^st, 2012 at the Grand. To support the work of the non-profit hospice, The Grand had donated use of their beautiful event space to Covenant Hospice for the special evening honoring their volunteers. As part of the activities planned for the evening, Covenant Hospice volunteers and employees each took a coin and made a wish in the Grand’s outdoor fountain. The wishes ranged from general wishes for Covenant Hospice, wishes for specific patients and families, or wishes for continued financial support for Covenant Hospice and their mission to provide comprehensive hospice care to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay. “I have never seen anything like it! Some of the volunteers were quiet before tossing their coin into the fountain, some stopped to pray, it was very moving!” said Jane Arnette, one of The Grand’s event planning specialist.

The volunteer program for Covenant Hospice in Dothan has over 220 volunteers that freely give their time to our patients in Barbour, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, and Pike Counties, as well as donating thousands of hours to our office and fundraising events. Covenant Hospice is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive compassionate service to patients and their loved ones during times of life limiting illnesses, based on need, regardless of ability to pay.
