This is Bo Meadows remembers the final year of Sid Ortiz’s life. Like so many others at Mountain Brook High School Monday night, his thoughts were not only of these times, but all the times and ways the LSU superfan touched their lives.

He impacted the community in such a positive way and brought us together, and he was the strongest fighter I’ve ever seen," Wilson Faulkner, another classmate and friend.

Sidney Fitzgerald Ortis died on Oct. 31 at the age of 16. It was the tragic conclusion to a nearly 15-month battle with osteosarcoma cancer.
