Theft In Progress At Belk's Wiregrass Commons Mall

DOTHAN: Dothan Police Communications dispatched a theft in progress at Belk's at Wiregrass Commons Mall. The responding units were advised that a black male, wearing an Auburn cap and a blue jacket was placing items in his coat while in the store.
When the call was dispatched Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes advised he was in the parking lot of Wiregrass Commons Mall. Sheriff Hughes reported that he was going in the store.
Both Dothan Police Communications and Houston County Communications reported the suspect was exiting the store into the mall shopping area. The Belk's Loss Prevention Officer was attempting to stop the suspect.
Dothan Police has also arrived at the mall.

Sheriff Hughes and loss prevention has the suspect in custody. He was arrested as he left the store and entered the mall area.

The theft suspect arrested by Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes and Loss Preventon of Belk's has been identified as Joshua Tracey.
Tracey was just released on Saturday from Dale County Jail. Tracey was suppose to go to Community Corrections program when he was released from Dale County Jail. He was in jail for Trafficking In Meth.
Holds have been placed with Houston County for Tracey to be returned to Dale County Jail on his release.
