Weston Phillip Smith, 19, of Samson died today, Dec. 1, as a result of the below crash.


 



 




DOTHAN POST – A three-vehicle crash Friday, Nov. 27, claimed two lives and injured three. Weston Phillip Smith, 19, of Samson was injured when the 1990 Chevrolet pickup he was driving collided head-on with a 2002 Honda Civic. He was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The driver and a child passenger in the Honda were killed: Jack William Mock, 30, of Opp and Kenzly Lynn Moody, 8, of Samson. Neither was using a seat belt. A passenger in the Chevrolet and another passenger in the Honda sustained injuries. The crash occurred at 10:35 p.m. on Alabama 153 at the 2.5 mile marker, just over seven miles northwest of Samson. The preliminary investigation suggests alcohol was a factor. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
