HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning there is a fire alarm at 7:47 AM Houston County 911 dispatched a fire alarm, phone in, at 7329 West Main, Highlands Antique Mall.
The first fire department to be dispatched was Bay Springs Volunteer Fire. No response.
The second fire department to be dispatched was Wicksburg Volunteer Fire Department. One fireman responded.
A Houston County Sheriff Deputy was dispatched.
Since only one fireman responded the third back up was dispatched.
HERE IS WHERE NO LOGIC
The third back up is Taylor Volunteer Fire.
There is a Dothan Fire Station less than two miles east of the Highlands Antique Mall. Finally nine minutes after dispatch, Dothan Fire was dispatched. That was at 7:56 AM.
At 7:59 AM the Houston County Sheriff Deputy had arrived on the scene and returned to service reporting it was a false alarm.
At 8:03 AM Dothan Fire arrived. Taylor Volunteer Fire was enroute. Neither informed of deputies report.
At 8:04 AM Dothan 911 reported to Dothan Fire a false alarm. The fireman reported no one at the building to gain access to confirm a false alarm.
The No Logic...with a Dothan Fire Department less than two miles from the alarm, why is Taylor Volunteer Fire third in?
If the goal is life and property, then why no common sense?
E-911 Advisory Committee
I serve on the Dothan - Houston County 911 Advisory Committee. And this makes no sense to me.
So I give myself a stupid slap, that is until the next meeting!
