On July 29, 2015 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible burglary on Honey Pot Ln East of Marianna, Florida. A family member was checking on the residence for his mother and father who were out of town on business. This family member called the Sheriff’s Office when he observed a burgundy 4 door car parked in the yard and his father’s state assigned vehicle missing.

Upon arrival by deputies it was determined that the homeowner is employed as a Biologist with the Florida Wildlife Commission. It was further determined that his agency vehicle was in fact missing and soon determined to have been stolen. Deputies also determined the burgundy 4 door car in the yard is registered to Trevor Phillmon.

A short time later the stolen FWC truck was turning back into the drive the occupants observed deputies in the yard the driver put the truck in reverse. As the driver backed around a corner two male individuals exited the truck and fled from the immediate area. Deputies made contact with the driver of the truck and identified her as Sarah Hayes. Hays initially indicated that only one occupant exited the truck and Hays identified him as Trevor Phillmon.

Sheriff Officials then contacted Jackson CI and Apalachee CI and requested their K-9 teams respond. Upon their arrival K-9 teams identified (2) separate tracks. The K-9 teams began running the tracks and located Brian Beauchamp a short distance away hiding in the woods.

Brian Beauchamp then indicated that he was the only other person in the vehicle. JCI and ACI K-9 teams continued tracking the other track that led them to a residence on Granberry Dr. Inside the residence Sheriff Officials were able to take Trevor Phillmon into custody without further incident.

During the inventory of the FWC truck Deputies located methamphetamine, a synthetic drug called “Molly” along with drug paraphernalia such as hypodermic needles, coffee filters, and plastic tubing.

The three was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.

Assisting the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were Officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the Florida Highway Patrol, Jackson Correctional Institution, and Apalachee Correctional Institution.

Sheriff Roberts would like to give special thanks to Jackson County Fire and Rescue personal who responded and maintained a presence at the scene to ensure that the K-9 tracking team and deputies were not overcome by 100 plus degree temperatures during the four plus hour manhunt.

Charges:

Grand Theft Auto

Possession of Methamphetamine
