Three People Arrested On Drug Charges

On October 30, 2012 the Dothan Police Department went to the home of a man wanted for questioning in residential burglary which occurred in the 600 block of Haven Drive on October 28, 2012. While at the residence, investigators uncovered evidence of additional crimes for which the suspect, Michael Benton II, has now been charged. At this time Benton has been charged with burglary regarding the October 28th case, unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle regarding an incident which occurred in early October.
Additionally, investigators attempted to check the VIN number of a motorcycle present at the residence after receiving information that it may be stolen but discovered the VIN number had been partially destroyed. Benton has been charged with obscuring the identity of a vehicle and police say the research into the vehicle will continue with further charges pending.
Lastly, inside the residence, police recovered methamphetamine along with precursor chemicals that are used to manufacture methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. Police also made two other arrests in connection with the narcotics and found evidence that there was a small child present while methamphetamine was being cooked and smoked. For these crimes, Benton was charged with manufacturing and chemical endangerment of a child.
· Michael Benton II, white male, 25 years of age, of Squire Court was arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary, Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Obscuring the Identity of a Vehicle, First Degree Manufacturing and Chemical Endangerment of a Child with bonds totaling $245,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
· William Senn, white male, 35 years of age, of Ozark, Alabama was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Chemical Endangerment of a Child with bonds totaling $30,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
· Christie Foster, white female, 26 years of age, of Squire Court was arrested and charged with First Degree Manufacturing and Chemical Endangerment of a Child with bonds totaling $215,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
