DOTHAN: Today in the City of Dothan there has been three suicide threats calls answered by Dothan 911, Dothan Police, Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance.
This past weekend in Ozark, Ozark - Dale County 911, Ozark Police, Ozark Fire - Rescue and Dale County Sheriff Deputies responded to suicide threats.
What is fortunate? None were successful or caused injuries to themselves.
But here is something I wish to point out... And it might be offensive.
Today is Sunday. God's House across Dothan, Houston County and surrounding areas were open. Seek help!
Also to the leaders of the church community - three within the corporate city limits of Dothan who were threatening to commit suicide. Accept that as a challenge to get out of your routine, CHURCH COMMUNITY, get out of your routine.
There is a mission field under your nose. Get aggressive and proactive in reaching the community.
Every day emergency responders are rolling to suicide attempts. And if you had the Dothan Police Chief, Dothan Fire Chief or Houston County Sheriff, or your local Police/Fire/Sheriff commanders give you the numbers of responses they make to threats or attempts, you would be astonished.
So again, the challenge to the Christian Community leaders, there is a mission field RIGHT HERE.
