The following update is from Morgan's Aunt, Wendy Jones...

Morgan does have a tumor, about the size of a lemon.

Still can't tell from looking at it if it is benign or cancer. Took tissue, will have prelim results within a day or so, but won't have definite results for 7-10 days. Will admit her today, hope to get an appt with head/neck specialist. if can't get appt tomorrow,... will send her home til can see him. Need immediate prayers that she can see this dr tomorrow...

Please continue to remember in your prayers.

Subject: Re: Morgan Update

Just heard back from the biopsy. It is a tumor, about a lemon-size. The doctor could not tell by looking at it if it was cancer or benign. Sometimes they can tel immediately if it is cancer. They took tissue, should know preliminary results within a day or so, but won't know definite results til 7 - 10 days.

They are admitting Morgan today, and trying to get an appt with the head/neck specialist tomorrow. So that is immediate prayer request for the appt. If they can't see that doctor, they will send her home til they can get an appt with him.

The doctor could not tell if the tumor was embedded in nerves of other tissue, so that is another prayer request - that it will be easy to remove. The doctor did say that due to the size of the tumor, they would have to make a large incision.

Continue to pray for them - mitzi and David are needing them as well as Morgan.

UPDATE THURSDAY Afternoon from Wendy Jones:

Per Wendy Jones Facebook page………………

Just to give everyone an update on Morgan. She will be having surgery on August 11th to remove the tumor. It will be a VERY intensive surgery, as there are several things in the surgeon's way that he must go through to get to the tumor, including the jaw, parotid glands, and facial nerves. A more accurate description of the tumor's size is the size of a baseball. (It has not grown since yesterday; a baseball just better describes the size.) The tumor is at the base of her skull down her neck.

She will be in ICU after the surgery, as they will be concerned about swelling around the neck area, and due to the extensiveness of the surgery. She will spend at least one week in the hospital, and then full recovery could take up to two months, including missing school during that time.

Pathology reports still do not indicate it is cancer; however, they will not have all of the reports in until probably Tuesday.

Specific prayer requests:

1. Morgan is still in a lot of pain, and will be until the tumor is removed. Pray for pain relief for her.
2. Pray for the doctor to be able to remove ALL of the tumor, so that none is left.
3. Pray for Mitzi, David, Morgan, and Dylan during this very stressful time.
4. Pray for full, speedy recovery.
5. Pray that the full pathology report will still indicate there is no cancer.
