DOTHAN: For Lyme Awareness Month, Landmark Park, located in Dothan, Alabama in conjunction with the Alabama Lyme Association will host a presentation entitled “Tick Awareness and Prevention for You and Your Pets.” The program will be located at Landmark Park on May 22 at 2 p.m. in the Interpretive Center.
Discover the characteristics of ticks you may encounter in the area or on vacation, learn how to prevent and treat tick bites, and learn about the types of diseases carried by ticks. Also, learn how you should care for your pets to prevent problems associated with ticks. Speakers will include Emily Merritt, Research Associate from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Science from Auburn University, Tina Neathammer from the Alabama Lyme Disease Association, and Missy Forrester, DVM from Southeast Alabama Veterinary Hospital.
