TO SPENCER COLLIER - ALABAMA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY CHIEF

Spencer we hear you make the statements about closing driver license centers around the State of Alabama. That produces several questions:

You have a statewide monopoly. Either buy a driver license from your agency, or get arrested. Everyone has to pay a $ 35 fee for that license.

Since that is your main "cash cow", why are you so determined to make it harder to get? Or, is your desire to make it difficult on the public in order to get the public on the legislators to pass more taxes?

Spencer, what you need to do is, put a team together of non governmental people, actually business people like John Watson, John Downs, Mike Schmitz, Don McMullan, Charles Nailen...you know those in the real world. Let them come up with business plans to make the driver license a cash cow to make the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency money. Make it customer service and easy.

Now I realize you are mandated by your boss, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley - to go out and sell death and doom and make the public stand up to the Legislators. However Spencer, you are looking stupid.

While I am not real smart, but even I can figure out... do not cut the service which is bringing in revenue. I mean, really, if you can not make a profit on a piece of plastic for $ 35, that everyone in Alabama has to purchase if they drive, then answer this question:

how can McDonald's make a profit on a $ 1 value meal and stay in business?

how can Taco Bell sell tacos for $ 2 and pay rent on a building on the Ross Clark Circle, and make a profit?

I think we have a management problem in your agency. And look in the mirror Spencer, you are the top dog!
