ABBEVILLE: A couple of years ago you put ther screws to the home town Police Officer for Abbeville Police Chief. Now you are faced with the selection of a new Abbeville Police Chief.
Former Abbeville Police Lt. Noel Vanlandingham worked with Abbeville Police and rose through the ranks. Vanlandingham has had the opportunity to go with other departments but made the decision to remain in Abbeville for most if not all of his law enforcement carear.
The Mayor and retired Police Chief on the Abbeville Town Council attempted to get you to select Vanlandingham as police chief. But you were to stupid acting.
Common Sense is not a requirement for elected officials. In fact, if you are able to think and do the right thing, you could be disqualified from holding an elective office.
But you made a choice for someone from Ozark to be Chief and now he is returning to Ozark as Chief.
Lt. Vanlandingham made a decison not to work for a group of back stabbers, the Abbeville Town Council. He left and went to Henry County Sheriff Department. And I can not blame Vanlandingham for leaving Abbeville Police Department. His departure was gain for the people of Henry County.
None the less, the same group are faced to make a decision for Abbeville Police Chief. I feel for the citizens of Abbeville once again. You are faced with the same ( because there has not been an election since the last appointment ) of decision makers.
And again, common sense and the ability to think is a reason to be disqualified as an elected official.
We await....wait....wait....and wait for a forward thinker to arrive in Abbeville on the City Council...tick, tick, tick...the clock is ticking....
