Today Is Election Day Across The Wiregrass - Some Municipal - NOT Dothan

WIREGRASS:     The registered voters of municipalities across the Wiregrass go to the election polls to elect or reelect the City Council members and Mayors of their towns.

Some deserve to be reelected and some deserve to be defeated and sent home. With all of the municipalities I have not kept up with each individual municipality and the persons elected.

In Ozark a decision will be made for a new Mayor. One is seeking return, Bob Bunting. While Bunting did a good job when he served as Mayor, and nothing against age, but Ozark would probably be best served with some new ideas and fresh approach. The two top contenders will probably be Barfield and Gilland.

Ozark needs some management attention. The current Mayor, well he made the right decision,  time to go home.

ENTERPRISE

This is the hot election and one I have focused on. The reason my interest has been peaked tracks back to the school superintendent controversy.

I was asked to attend by citizens. And I love watching and looking at the political game. And I enjoy watching the players and figuring their angle and motive.

I have been in the political game since 1977. And pretty good at smelling a rat or pack of rats.

As I watched this group and later the Townsend cult. What started as a good idea transformed into an agenda by certain persons wanting control. And those were led by Turner Townsend and Sue Nuewien.

After thinking initially their motives were pure, as I watched I quickly realized, it was a agenda.

Not one time has the Turner Cult complained about the city leadership not bringing jobs, not having a safe city, not keeping streets repaired and in good condition.

When the group wanted meetings online the city leadership met that request. When the group wanted minutes of the meetings online the city met that request. But the Turner cult was not happy they went back to 2008, they wanted further.

Then the Turner cult wanted a certain financial software. Wanted the city to spend thousands of dollars to change their accounting system. The leadership finally said there is no way to make the Turner cult happy.

So Turner and Nuewien started searching for candidates. And I call Shipman a con. He wants the people to think he lives in this little house in Enterprise when he has a huge house in Kinston. If Shipman is not being honest now how will he be if elected.

If the Enterprise leadership was failing on bringing jobs, not keeping the streets safe, not keeping the infrastructure updated, then I would say change.

But to elect the people Turner has selected to run, that would be taking a City of Progress into a City of  Disaray.

I do not live in Enterprise. But I have had a business in Enterprise. I know the political game as good as if not better than most. And I have a unique talent of smelling out rats.

To make a change from your current Mayor and City Council wold be a huge step backwards from what appears to be a forward moving train.

So I would encourage you to re-elect your sitting Mayor and Council.

COLUMBIA

You are in a bad situation with a zero functioning rescue and a 10 percent functioning fire department. Your lives and property are in danger.

Your Mayor cancelled a meeting months ago to begin to address those issues. He did not and has failed to maintain your safety and lives.

Time for a change.

ASHFORD - COWARTS

The current Mayor seems to have the best interest of the city at heart. See no reason to change
