Today the Dothan Police Honored their Fallen Heroes

DOTHAN: This afternoon at the Dothan Opera House the City of Dothan held their annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service. The police officers they have lost in the line of duty, in Dothan alone they have lost 5 officers. This is a very emotional time for law enforcement; it’s a constant reminder that on any given day they could be the next one. Today’s guest speaker knows all too well what it is like to lose officers. Retired Police Chief Alan Benefield talked about the two officers he lost in Ozark back in the late 1980’s. Also during the ceremony Sgt Jeff Garrett was honored and his photo will also go up on the wall of honor in the lobby of the Dothan Police Department.


The ceremony lasted for an hour so the video will be in two parts.
