Tonight Steve Met Haley For First Time - $ 11,000 Presented

Steve Hardwick several years ago started baking pound cakes. He would randomly bake cakes and deliver them saying - have a good day.

Seeing how a small act made people smile made Steve feel good.

As time passed Steve became burdened about helping people that life dealt issues. Issues that caused strain on their lives.

Steve developed CAKES FOR ------. He started fundraising events by selling and delivering pound cakes.

Tonight Steve met his latest person he has worked for weeks to help. Steve Hardwick met Haley Forrest for the first time. They met at Longhorn’s to chat, eat and for Steve to present Haley with the earnings from Cakes For Haley.

The presentation was with Haley and Jacob two precious little twin girls, Haley’s parents, David and Joy Kirkland and Jacob parents Bobby and Glenda Forrest.

Joining Steve were the ladies who helped him bake some cakes - Glenda Coleman, Cassandra Canady, Jennifer Walsworth and Donna Everett.

Steve owns Hardwick Flooring on Westgate Parkway. He sells the poundcakes for $ 35 each. Steve takes zero from the $ 35. He pays all the cake ingredients cost. To make the $ 11,000, Steve spent about $ 2,000 not counting time. So 100% of each cake purchase goes to the person Steve is working to help.

I asked Steve why don’t you go into the cake baking business. He said it would not be as much fun.

Haley and Steve had never met until tonight. Haley is a young mother. She and Ja on had two twin daughters. Haley has a major medical condition. Jacob  was tragically killed in a car accident. There is a need in Haleys life. Steve stepped up to the plate.
