Traffic Stop Leads to an Arrest of an Marianna Man

On 10/04/2016 at approximately 10:08 pm, Officers of Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet pickup for an expired tag of more than six months and inoperable headlights.
The driver of the pickup was identified as Kevin Raymond Smith of Marianna and a consensual search of the vehicle was conducted. The search revealed a backpack that contained items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine along with methamphetamine.
Additionally paraphernalia was located within the vehicle. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
