Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Abbeville

On July 28, 2014, at approximately 0220 hours, Abbeville Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 431 Northbound for suspected DUI.  During the stop, the driver, W/M Tanner Morton, 26 YOA, of Panama City, FL, was arrested for DUI.  A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding illegal narcotics, to include marijuana, hash, steroids, and a substance believed to be heroin.  Also recovered was over $40,000 US currency.  The driver, Morton, as well as the passenger, W/M Christopher Grice, 27 YOA, of Panama City, FL, were arrested and charged with Unlawful possession of a controlled substance, Possession of Marijuana  1st degree and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.


The case is still under investigation at this time.
