Troy Man Charged with Manslaughter

  Earlier today, Oct. 7, Alabama State Troopers arrested a man involved in a deadly single-vehicle crash Sunday, Sept. 28. Demetric Upshaw, 33, of Troy was injured when the 2005 Lincoln LS he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.  A passenger, Herbert Pollard, 48, also of Troy, was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery,  where he died from injuries he received in the crash.  The crash occurred on Pike Road 2214 four miles south of Troy. Upshaw, who was charged with manslaughter and DUI,  was placed in the Pike County Jail on a $21,000 bond. Nothing further is available.
