Turner Hand Picks His Candidates For TRANSPARENCY - But His Organization Has No Transparency

On July 20th, I had the distinct honor and privilege of going to the Republican Women’s Club forum of candidates for the upcoming election in Enterprise.  While there, I saw nothing out of the ordinary as far as speeches or people that surprised me.  The incumbents talked about their accomplishments which were impressive compared to results from other cities in the area. The challengers all spoke on transparency and openness and one candidate even spoke on establishing a term limit to “2” terms for his office.

Last time I checked, candidates have a job interview every four years and if the people are pleased, they get re-elected. Apparently, the majority have been pleased. Plus, a local ordinance cant eastblish a governmental term limit. That would take an act of the legislature then would, if I’m correct, take a vote of the people statewide to add a constitutional amendment to the code of Alabama.  But I may be mistaken.  Either way, Turner, not happening.

Accomplishments are the same for each candidate because they were all apart of it but the other challengers, to all speak of openness and transparency, that shows me that they are all hand-picked disciples of Townsend. I’ve even had people tell me that certain businesses owners and a boy named Sue went to ministers in the African-American community searching for someone to run for mayor. But that’s just what I was told. Plus, many of those names have appeared as contributors to the challengers so, Im assuming the rumors are true.

One thing I did hear and the facts don’t check out, is mayoral candidate Milton Shipman words about his donors. I never heard mention of the Southeast Sun for almost $11,000.

The Southeast Suns nearly $11,000 was reported…….the other stuff required by law, not so much. On a “form 4” listed as an “other source of income” you will find the Southeast Sun. However, I don’t think its illegal for the Southeast Sun to do this but one would say that is HIGHLY UNETHICAL. This would probably explain the dis-love that the quattlebums feel towards the city. Any local newspaper, that abides by the Alabama Press Association, that would give Turner boy a front page article and graphic for a fee, aint good and again is HIGHLY UNETHICAL.

Back to the Ship. He said his highest donor was the Sawyer Law Firm for $2,500. That sir, is in-correct. Your highest donor was North Meets South LLC for the contribution of $5,500 in kind services of their time, materials, etc. another mistruth. A donor is cash, check, time, in-kind services…………just so you know.

Whether you receive a check, cash, in-kind services, videos, facebook sponsorships, you have to report it.

When you buy signs, website domains, pay people for services, advertising on “Link” billboards, cards, handouts, buttons, shirts, magnets on cars, stickers, etc. you have to report it. It has to be REPORTED.  So far, it hasn’t. C’mon Milton. Follow the rules. If you want to be Mayor, follow the rules! Its not a lot to follow the rules.

And again on the rules ship, Mr. Britt? You are no different than Shiopman. Living in one place while claiming another. District 5 is not district 1. Dont forget a lawsuit currently against Britt for wrongfully usiong money that didn’t belong to him.

And accorinding to Kyle Mooty’s column this past weekend, one candidate wants to manage the City’s money but cant keep his personal finances in line, nor can he keep a school open. Another lawsuit currently pending against another mayoral candidate for not paying his bills.

And Turner, next time, try vetteing your choices a little better. Perhaps, you’d like to “Take Back” your hand-picked choices for office? And the citizens of Enterprise trust you to be their voice and to lead them………and you cant even pick quality candidates?
