Two Dothan Ranking Officers File For Retirement

DOTHAN:    Two Dothan Police ranking officers have filed their retirement papers.


Dothan Police Captain David Jay commands the patrol division of the Dothan Police Department. After 26 years with the department, Jay has turned in his retirement papers and will be leaving by October 1.


Dothan Police Patrol Lt. Brian Cherry commands the night shift patrol division. Cherry was a long time Sergeant in Juvenile Division. When promoted to Lieutenant he took over the reigns of command of night shift patrol. Cherry has a very calming demeanor. After 26 or so years ( not sure exact number ) Cherry has turned in his retirement papers.


Both Captain Jay and Lt. Cherry have been great assets to the citizens and guests of the City of Dothan. Both have served in different divisions and have done a great job.
