OZARK: The Ozark City Council and Mayor of Ozark met tonight. Just after calling the meeting to order, the Council and Mayor went into an Executive Session.
After two hours in Executive Session tonight, the council came out and never adjourned the meeting. Instead the council recessed until Thursday morning at 8 AM. They are expected to return to Executive Session at that time.
Tonight marked the second week of Executive Sessions by the Ozark City Council. The issue being discussed, as we understand, is the issue of the Ozark Fire Chief and perhaps the Ozark Fire Captain over recent instructions and comments made concerning an emergency call outside the City Limits of Ozark.
Echo Ambulance called for FLATIRON to respond to a four wheeler accident. The Ozark Fire Chief then gave instructions to disobey the request of Echo Ambulance until further instructions from him. The call was not one where Ozark Fire was involved at all.
The Ozark Fire Captain is reported to have called the Ozark - Dale County 911 Center on the phone. Reports are when the 911 Operator told the Fire Captain the Chairman of the 911 Board was on the phone, reports are the Ozark Fire Captain made some very degrading remarks concerning the Chairman of the Ozark - Dale County 911 Board.
All calls into Ozark - Dale County 911 Center are recorded. The comments of the Ozark Fire Captain are on tape. The Chairman of the Ozark - Dale County 911 Center has been on the Board since 1997.
Meeting of Ozark - Dale County 911 Center
The Ozark - Dale County 911 Center meets on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. The meeting will be an interesting meeting and can provide some entertainment over some issues that might be discussed.
The Ozark Fire Chief is a members of the Ozark - Dale County 911 Board. Since he is on suspension the Chief will not be sitting on the board at the meeting. According to sources Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell has directed the Acting Ozark Fire Chief not to be at the Wednesday meeting. At this time RSN does not know if the decision of Mayor Blackwell was approved by the Ozark City Council or a decision of his own.
Not Related But A Question Some Media Needs To Ask
This is not related to this article but is a question that some media needs to make Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell answer. Since you are Chairman of the Southeast Alabama Gas District Board, please justify the $ 3,000.00 per week, $ 12,000.00 per month contract you have with Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard and his company for consulting. Also Mayor, please explain the legality of the contract and what it is for.
And by the way, give me a $ 3,000.00 a week/ $ 12,000.00 a month contract for consulting like that... I will shut up!!! I think...
