HENRY COUNTY:     There is a name and phone number you need to put in your wallet or phone and always have available.

That name is – Lee Padget, and the number is 334-695-8506.

Lee is the owner and operator of SeaTow. The boat emergency response service in the event you have an incident on the water and need help. You get stranded, your boat sinks, divers, whatever boat needs of emergency nature you have.

But Lee is more than SeaTow on the water.

On Saturday John Curtis called me and said he had a flat tire on the boat trailer. As with all good kids, his words were – we have had a blow out on the trailer. We are at Thomas Mill Creek and were able to put the boat in. We have gone to the island. This meant in other words – daddy take care of it while we are on the water having fun!

I was with Seth Goree. Now Seth is a do it yourself kind of guy.  Seth is in the construction business and knows how to fix things. Seth told me we would go fix it. We go to Thomas Mill Creek Landing and no spare tire on the trailer. ( Hey Frankie – no spare tire on the trailer!!!). Seth measures and we go to his boat trailer and measure the rim and the tire will work.

We return. Most of Seth’s tools are in Dothan. We call the boys from the island to return to the boat landing. Seth’s wrench’s will not break the lug nuts on the trailer.

I call Lee with SeaTow. In minutes Lee is on the scene. He and Seth are working and changing the tire. The jacks are Parker, Jake, John Curtis and Seth as they pick up the trailer. Tire changed. Boys happy because they can go back on the water.

Now, I was doing what I do best. Standing off to the side talking to Deputy Jesse Ingram of Henry County Sheriff Department who was on patrol and had ridden through the landing. My job, stay out of the way and let those who know what they are doing – do it. Afterwards to say THANKS guys.

Three final points – keep Lee with SeaTow’s name in your wallet and/or phone. He can help you both on and off the water. Anywhere in this area for emergency service needs, call him.

The other point – any construction needs. Seth can tackle any construction needs from remodeling to new construction, minor or major. Call Seth at 334-790-5977. Seth’s crews just repaired Clark Matthews ceiling from some water damage and he was bragging on his work. He does a great job.

And John Curtis, Jake, Parker and Seth…well they make pretty good jacks lifting the boat trailer…
