On July 10th, 2014 the Dothan Police Department responded to a home in the 1000 block of Summit Street in reference to a theft in progress call.
Officers were advised that two black males had taken an air conditioning unit from the home and fled the scene. An alert citizen described the suspect’s vehicle to arriving officers as being a white Ford Pick-Up truck. That information was relayed to other officers in the area, when the vehicle was spotted on Lake Street. Officers immediately stopped the vehicle and found a large air conditioning unit in the back. Through further investigation, it was determined the unit was indeed the property taken from the home on Summit Street.
The two individuals, now identified as David Sanders and Eric Allen were arrested and charged with theft of property.
- David Christopher Sanders, black male, 32 years of age, of Headland Avenue was arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property.
- Eric Allen, black male, 34 years of age, of South Edgewood Drive was arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property.
Sanders and Allen’s bonds have been set at $5,000.00 each. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
