At least two Arkansas police officers -- including Hackett Chief of Police Darrell Spells -- were shot in Sebastian County on Wednesday and authorities were descending on the mobile home where the suspected shooter was believed to be barricaded inside.
A Sebastian County deputy, who was not named, was in critical condition and Spells was still hospitalized at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, though his condition was unknown, NEWS5 reported. Both officers were in surgery.
Police negotiators entered the mobile home around 11 a.m. and family members who had been inside were removed from the home, according to NEWS5.
