Two People Arrested on Traffic Stop in Marianna

On May 21st, 2014 at approximately 2:31 p.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC truck on Lafayette St. for a safety belt violation. During the traffic stop, officers obtained consent to search the vehicle. In addition to the driver, the vehicle had two front seat passengers that were identified as Nicole Labit and Jason Fonsen. During the traffic stop Labit handed her cigarette pack to an Officer which was found to have a small baggy of Methamphetamine in it. Officers then conducted a search of Fonsen and located two baggies in his sock, one which contained a small amount of Methamphetamine and the other to contain prescription pills which Fonsen did not have a prescription for. Fonsen and Labit were arrested and are charged with the above listed charges. Both subjects were transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
