Two People Charged in Connection with Yesterday’s Burglary

On September 29, 2014 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Dale county Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Police Department, Ashford Police Department, and Alabama Game and Fish, apprehended Shawn Curlee a 24 year old male of Ozark, Al, and George Heights Jr. a 28 year old male of Dothan, Al. and charged both with Burglary 2nd.
Shawn Curlee was charged with one count of Burglary 2nd and given a No Bond and George Heights Jr. charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd and given a No Bond.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress call involving two male suspects at the 100 block of Bowen Rd. Ashford, Al. Upon the arrival of the Houston County Sheriff’s Deputy, Shawn Curlee was taken into custody immediately and the second suspect was able to elude apprehension.
The second suspect was taken into custody later after making entry into a second home at the 2100 block of Coot Adams Rd. Ashford, Al. the suspect fled the residence and attempted to escape capture by hiding in the wooded area. After a search of the area with the aid of assisting agencies George Heights Jr. was apprehended.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigation is still ongoing and the arrest of a third suspect is forthcoming.
