Two-Vehicle Crash Claimed the Life of a Deatsville Teen

TROY POST -- A two-vehicle crash at 12:15 p.m. today, June 20, claimed the life of a Deatsville teen and injured three others. Corey Ryan McCullers, 19, was killed when the 1997 BMW 328I he was driving collided with a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am before coming to rest after striking a travel trailer that was parked on the shoulder with a flat tire. McCullers was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.  The driver and two passengers in the Grand Am were transported to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery for treatment of their injuries. The crash occurred on U.S. 231 at the 86.3 mile marker six miles north of Troy. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
