Clio, AL A two-vehicle crash Monday morning claimed the life of an Ariton woman. Willie Goodson Brazier, 78, of Ariton was traveling north on Alabama Highway 51 in Barbour County when her vehicle traveled into the path of a 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was traveling south on Alabama Highway 51 driven by Grant Baker Jr., 53, of Auburn, AL.

Mrs. Brazier was pronounced dead at the scene by Barbour county assistant coroner, Mike Stell. The initial investigation indicates that Mrs. Goodson, the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Mr. Baker was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:35 am about 2 miles south of Clio. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
