Two Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of a Newton Woman

TROY POST: A two-vehicle crash Wednesday, Nov. 11 claimed the life of a Newton woman. Joy Bonner, 69, was killed when the 2003 Toyota Rav4 she was driving collided with a 2001 Ford F350 Brundidge Volunteer Fire vehicle driven by Joseph Sonntag, 80, of Brundidge. The crash occurred at 6:16 p.m. on U.S. 231 at the intersection of S.A. Graham Blvd. A passenger in the Rav4 suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Sonntag and a passenger suffered minor injuries and were transported to Troy Regional hospital. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
