Troy, AL: Troy EMS Units are on scene of a possible drowning. Details are sketchy at this time. Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit is enroute to help out at the scene.

 

UPDATE: The Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit is on scene and are attempting to locate the body. The subject is reported to be a 60 year old male. We are working to get more information at this time.

UPDATE @ 12:30 am

Divers with Regional Land and Water Rescue are in the water searching a possible area where the victim was last seen.

The Troy drowning is off of Swindall Road 231 south of Troy, Troy Fire, Care Ambulance, Troy Police Department, and Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit are on scene. Divers are in water at this time.

 

UPDATED: I have arrived on scene. The subject was reported to have last been seen at around 6:00 P.M. May 26, 2012. Someone who was bush hogging nearby saw the man on the bank fishing. The person bush hogging went to fill his tractor up. When the person on the tractor came back. The fisherman was no where to be found and the boat was in the middle of the pond. He then went to search for the victim and could not find him. He then called 911 and told them the situation. At this time foul play is not suspected and more than likely there will be no foul play. I am on scene and I will update.

  UPDATE @ 3:30: Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit is still on scene attempting to locate the victim. The Unit is using a sonagram to try and locate the body. We have also found out that the victim may have been a National Guard Soldier. Reports are he just got back from Afghanistan. We have not confirmed any of this yet. Please pray for the family during this time.

UPDATE @ 4:00 am

The search has been suspended until daylight, Cadaver Dogs are being brought to the scene to assist with the search. Regional is still on scene and will be until the body has been located.

 

UPDATED @ 6:00 AM:

Search crews are resuming the search for the drowned victim in Troy. Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson has dispatched air support to fly over the pond area in an effort to locate the body.

As more information develops we will update.

 

UPDATED @ 12:30 PM: Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit is still on scene attempting to locate the body. They have called in the Dale County Sheriff Helicopter and K-9's and they had no luck at locating the body. The water is very murky and is making it very hard for Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit. I had to leave the scene this morning at 4:00 to get some rest. I am enroute back to the scene. When I get on scene I will update again.
